How to Use Your Intuition to Grow Your Business

I've had students ask me: “Should I do it this way?” And I say, “Well, how do you feel about it?”

When I first started my business I was confused when somebody asked me that.  I thought that my feelings didn’t matter when it came to running a business.

I didn’t know how powerful mindset work could be to grow your business and even to help you grow as a person. I had no idea if I had all of the strategies, funnels, and templates it wouldn't work at all for me if I didn't have a good mindset.

In this blog post, I want to tell you all about how you can use your intuition to grow your business. This will definitely be helpful for aspiring coaches so that you can get started on your mindset right away, but it will also help coaches who have been in business for quite some time and have found that strategies aren’t what you all need.

Confidence as an online entrepreneur

A lot of my community members and even some students and clients have held themselves back from launching their businesses before because they have been comparing themselves to other people. They have played the comparison game of always looking into other women’s business to the point where they're almost copying somebody else.

I think the problem is and where people get tripped up is they are not confident in their own journey. They think they need to model after someone else, which doesn't really work very well. Building a business is also about recognizing yourself and being confident in who you are. It’s knowing that you don't have to create a brand new journey because you already are on one.

Using intuition to grow your business

I have always been a big believer in trusting your gut. Even with the coaches that I've invested in. One time I remember doing a split test on what I want to do vs what my coach suggested. My strategy converted higher because it was my own words and direction. Your coaches don't have the answers for you. I think it’s a big mistake when you make decisions solely based on what they are suggesting. You also have to ask yourself what you feel and what you want.

The templates the coaches are giving you are great and helpful to give you structure but you need to make it your own. If you just use what everyone else is using, your stuff will look like everyone else’s. But if you're using your own words it will resonate more with your community.

Again, it all goes back to confidence, your potential clients will definitely remember you if you recognize who you are and that what you have, is really valuable and unique. That will help you stand out.

On choosing your platform

I see a lot of coaches talk about how they're in all these Facebook groups and they're posting all their stuff. I've honestly never done that because it doesn't feel right for me. But if engaging on these FB groups is what feels right for you then feel free to add that as one of your platforms. The most important thing is to be consistent on social media where your people are.

So for example, my dream clients and students are all on Instagram and Pinterest. I put all of my energy into posting consistently, giving them things that they can see, giving them value, and then creating a journey from where they land on my profile and then go to my website.

Using intuition to scale your business

The best way to scale is through a group coaching program. If I compared my calendar today to how it was a year or two ago, back then my calendar was so full of client calls. Now it's so freeing to have so much whitespace. I remember thinking if this was my calendar a couple of years ago, I would have freaked out because it wasn't full of people. Having so much whitespace was possible because I decided to scale my business with a group program (Stand Out Coaching Academy.)

You don't have to be working with 1:1 clients until you're 50 years old. You can scale your business by charging appropriate prices and then working with many in the same amount of time, you would work with one person. For example: if you launch a program, and you got 10 people in, with bi-weekly group calls, you're still working with 10 people every other week. But if you had 10 clients, that's a lot of calls every week, and it does not equal the money that you're getting from your group program. Group programs are also sustainable because you can work with a lot more people and create a much bigger ripple effect.

I want to leave you with this: Always listen to your heart and what your gut is telling you. You always have a choice on how you want to run your life and business. Feel free to share this with a biz bestie who might need this!
