Welcome back to the Book Your Dream Clients podcast. I'm excited to share with you four email list growth strategies you can start doing now for free. So sit back, relax and enjoy.

Before we get started I want to make sure that you have a couple of things in place before you start working on this list that I have for you. So, the first thing that I want you to have in place right now is: I want you to have a website and/or a landing page service -  a nice landing page that converts well, and if you don't, make sure you have a landing page set up.

Why do you need a landing page? Because you're going to need a freebie to be building your list. Freebies are a great way to build your list for free, because they're all going to tie in with the steps that I have for you in just a minute. So a website landing page, a freebie, and you're also going to need, of course, an email service provider.

Okay? Alright! So let's dig into those four things that you can do right now after you have all of those things complete. They're good. You're ready to go. The first thing you can do is optimize your content media. What's your content medium? They’re your blog posts, your videos, podcasts. Those are the three main mediums we can communicate with people.

They can hear us, they can see us, they can read our words. They can connect with us on a consistent basis. So you're listening to my podcast medium. Once a month, we put out a new blog post, and sometimes once in a blue moon, I'll put a video on YouTube. So whatever you're using right now, and you're being consistent with it, I'm counting on you to be consistent with it.

I want you to go and look and make sure that you have buttons inside. At least, you know, two or three buttons nicely spaced out within the posts of your links to your landing page to download a freebie. Because that is how we get paid to create the content. So if I spend, you know, one-hour recording a podcast, creating the images, doing all the things that it takes to hit the publish button on the podcast, I would like to get reimbursed by you downloading a freebie.

Okay. So that's why we try to optimize our content. So that's a great way for us to get reimbursed for the work that we just put in. Same with blog posts, go through your blog posts. If you're not asking people to download things or giving links to hyperlinking text to go to a landing page, you are doing yourself a disservice, make sure every piece of content that you have is optimized for your freebie.

Okay? That includes show notes. That includes YouTube notes. All of those things always make sure you use it, that real estate with ways for your list to be built for free. Number two, promote them consistently on social media. So that means you create a content plan for your Facebook group, your Facebook page, Instagram feed, even stories.

I know stories feel a little bit...you have a little bit more freedom to just post whatever you want and be a little bit more random, but even scheduling things - if we use tailwind, I think you can schedule stories, and later you can... I think there's quite a few third-party services that you can use.

But even just scheduling it in your calendar. Let's say Asana, having a weekly task on Tuesdays to promote your webinar or your freebie. And you can put the image inside this on a task. You can put the copy, the link, whatever details you need for the story so you can post it easily, make that a recurring task.

You don't need to spend $30 a month on an Instagram story scheduler. You can literally just use your calendar and just make it easy for you to actually look at your phone: Here's the copy, here's the image. And then go post it. Think of how you can make this easy for you. We actually have a spreadsheet of all of my freebies in the links all of my masterclasses in the links, and we can use that to create our content plan.

So maybe on Wednesdays, we're always going to drop a freebie in our Facebook group or mention it on our Instagram or have a focus on one freebie a month or something like that. And when you have a lot of content, you have a little bit more freedom, but even if you just have one thing, put it in your content plan. Mentioned it on social media consistently.

So people...even if they've already seen that you have this and they haven't downloaded it yet, it's going to take them a few times to actually take action. So don't feel like a broken record, put it on your content plan and promote that thing that you worked so hard on. Number three, you're going to create new pins for it every month.

This always blows people's minds when I talk about this on client calls or group calls, we talk about their freebies. You know, they initially know that they should create pins and promote it on their groups and their communities, and then they move on to something else. I always remind them to go back to your list of all of your freebies that you have and create new images for them every single month.

That gives you your Pinterest account life. It gives new visuals. You never know what people are attracted to. Maybe something can go viral because you switched the copy on it or the image, whatever it is, go and create new pins for your stuff every month. Do the math on how many pins you need to schedule with your own content.

And then recycle the work that you've already put through. That means you don't have to create a new freebie. You can just make new pins for it. I love the strategy, cause it really beefs up your Pinterest game and it allows you to have more insight as to what your people love. And Pinterest is such a long-term thing.

I mean, I'm still getting clients from pins that I made three...four years ago. So do not skip out on your Pinterest strategy. Number four, collaborate with others. Don't be afraid to say yes to things that make you feel a little bit nervous. If it feels exciting to you and kind of pushes you out of your comfort zone in a good way, say yes to those things!

Being a part of summits or doing a Facebook group live with somebody is such a great way to connect with future clients and students. And even bringing in people into yours just to break the ice might be a great first step for you. If you've never done that, you'd be surprised on how many people love to just pop on a zoom call and just chat casually about something that can help their group.

People love that stuff. I see my students doing it all of the time. Don't be afraid to reach out to people. Draft an email that feels very personal and pick five to ten people every week and reach out to them and say, hey, would you like to be a part of my Facebook group? Schedule some live events in your group, really show your group that they're a part of something special and that they can learn things not only from you but from other people too.

This just allows us a great intertwining of expertise that your group is going to be grateful that they're a part of. Apply to be on podcasts. Ask people to go on live with you on Instagram, because then their audience will see you too. There's so many ways to grow and I think it's important just to pick one that feels really good for you.

So for me, I have people on my podcast. That's how I help people get additional exposure for them. And I will go on Facebook group lives with others who asked me too, if it feels aligned with where I am and it fits in with my schedule. Same with podcasts. So you don't have to do all of these things.

Just do what feels right for you and you're going to see that the benefits are pretty crazy because people love to hear from new people. They love new points of view, new ways to make their lives better. And they're just going to be excited to hear from somebody different. And of course, at the end of all of these collaborations, you're going to give them a call to action, to download something for free from you.

And that's why at the beginning of this podcast episode, the prerequisite was for you to have a landing page, a freebie in place, and be ready to rock and roll with your email service provider so your list is building every single day. You should not have to wait until you have the budget to run ads to grow your list.

You can grow it now, just have those things in place and then try all of these. Be consistent with them and watch yourself show up in a different way because you're seeing your list grow every single day, just from being you. I hope you enjoyed this podcast. If you have not left a review or rating why don't you go ahead and do that now?
